Adnams brewery has operated in Southwold since 1872 and remains crucial to the towns economy, tourist industry and even as a champion for local sustainability efforts.

In recent years the company has become a market leader in improving environmental sustainability by reducing energy and water consumption, developing heat-transfer technology, commiting to zero waste to landfill, establishing a major solar farm, adopting a stretch of the town's beach and even providing a home to several swarms of local bees!

Working in partnership with Adnams, this course is complimented by a unique presentation from members of the Adnam’s environmental team highlighting the broad range of the company’s sustainability initiatives.

In addition, students will investigate the evidence for further environmental sustainability within the town by conducting solar panel mapping, vehicle surveys, and pollution swabs.
