A 3 day / 2 night course – Day one includes an introduction to the issues within Southwold (for a small town there are so many lines of enquiry from a geographical perspective to investigate here ranging from the impact of climate change, coastal management, gentrification, changing places, impact of geology on coastal recession, regeneration etc – so students should have no problems finding individuality to each of their study titles) - students would then complete the fieldwork menu and develop a sense of place in the town and on the beach.
On the morning of day two we work with the students individually to develop their titles and lines of investigation – in the afternoon they work independently to gather their primary data. In the evening, we complete a session on data presentation, GIS and statistical analysis – students then consider what other data they may need to collect to enable suitable presentation and analysis.
On the final day, students would have a second opportunity to gather data from Southwold, based on their refinements from the evening before.
