This full day course explores the variety of coastal management used to protect the coastline and considers the effectiveness of each. Reference to the shoreline management plan and secondary Environment Agency data provides background context and enhanced reliability to the results which we gather. Methods of data collection include beach profiling, cost-benefit analysis, sand accumulation measurements, bipolar surveys and questionnaires.

Results analysis is enhanced by data presentation using GIS and completing of relevant statistical tests.
