Drone town

We're aware that getting out of school is logistically challenging, this course has been designed to allow you to complete the intital first day of our NEA course online. We've made a series of 4 comprehensive narrated videos, which will introduce students to:

  • Designing an NEA
  • Human geography issues in Southwold
  • Physical geography issues in Southwold
  • Methods of data collection
  • Sampling strategies
  • Using GIS
  • Designing a fieldwork itinerary

Having watched all 4 hours of videos students will be in a position to independently and confidently design thier own NEAs, enabling them to arrive in Southwold ready to collect their data.

You're welcome to contact us in advance of the trip as much as you need to check feasibility and practicalies so you'll arrive planned, prepared and ready to go. We'll be based in our central theatre right in the heart of the town where space is plentiful and we have exclusive use of toilets and classrooms.

Students will have support from our tutors on the day, demonstrations of techniques can be provided and access to all of our fieldwork equipment, including drones*.

Stay as long as you need to collect your data.
