The Geography Fieldwork Academy was established in 2017 by existing Geography teachers with the core aim of providing a high-quality fieldwork alternative.
We hire the facilities which we use and work with local accommodation providers to offer a much more affordable fieldwork experience. As teachers ourselves we pride ourselves on the quality and accessibility of the resources we create and the courses which we deliver.
From our bases in Southwold and Skegness, and our neighbouring locations of Ipswich, Norwich, Wroxham, Hunstanton and Cleethorpes we deliver a range of KS3, GCSE, AS and IB physical and human investigations which are tailored to all exam boards.
We specialise in NEA fieldwork and provide a range of courses ranging from 1-day skills boosters to 4-day residentials.
All of our courses are led by qualified teachers and supported by a team of DBS checked and First-aid trained tutors.
GeogIT has been designed to modernise fieldwork and incorporates 35 different methods of data collection. The app logs your data and your coordinates. Upon completion it automatically sends you CSV files of your data which enables quick and easy transfer into ArcGIS to create geolocated maps of your results. GeogIT is available to download on both iOS and Android.
We're delighted to have teamed up with the Ordnance Survey having been selected as one of their GetOutside champions for 2020. We’ll be working to encourage people in our local community to be more active outside by making the most of their locality.
